Doner VW Bug When Jerry first sent me these pictures I was a little concerned. I like Volkswagens and this seemed like a pretty nice one to take apart. I have always felt that as cool as the GT2 is, if you've got a decent bug it's probably a better investment of time and money to restore it rather than convert it.
VW bug rear view That being said, Jerry had ( I thought) a rather intelligent answer. He was looking for a doner with a decent chassis. It so happens that if it has a decent chassis, the rest of it is probably pretty good too. Made sense to me.
Bug interior Rather than just ripping into it, Jerry took it apart and sold or gave away most of the parts to folks working on there own restoration projects. There is not much text to go along with these photos but most of them seem to be self explanatory. If any of them generate questions I'm sure Jerry will be willing to fill in the details.
Old and New Jerry bought 2 cars. One had some pretty severe rear end damage. The other seems to have some interesting rear end modifications. Jerry stripped off all of the "Bradley" parts from the damaged car to complete the second car. The remains sit in a friends back yard.
