As the engine came apart, I was surprised to discover that some rodent had packed it full of maple tree seeds. I was very glad that I hadn't tried to start the engine as it no doubt would have overheated and/or caught fire. At this point, about 1/3rd of the engine tin was stripped. |
Here, the fuel injection system, fan housing, alternator and engine tin have all been removed. The process of cleaning and repainting everything now begins. Because the fan housing looked so bad we decided to powder coat it. |
The engine is mostly clean at this point and re-assembly begins.. |
Back together. The powder coating came out really nice. After an oil change, new oil, air and fuel filters, it was time to try to start it up. It took about a minute of cranking (with fingers crossed) before it fired up. |

On to the front end.... As I mentioned, the plan was to swap out the adjustable beam for a stock one. At the Carlisle Kit Car show I got a great deal on a complete disk brake front end. So, I now have the complete adjustable axle for sale. |
